Years & Years And Rejjie Snow Listed In NME’s Best Albums Of 2018
Years & Years and Rejjie Snow have been shortlisted in NME’s best albums of 2018. The stars sit alongside Kanye West, Beyoncé, Artic Monkeys and The 1975 on the list as NME’s 2018’s 100 essential records.
‘Palo Santo’ was heralded as a “sleek” and “imperious” concept album for its exploration of religion and sex in a dystopia in which humans perform in cabaret shows for their robot rulers. Acclaimed for it “pounding house beats” and with a sound comparable to ‘The Neptunes/Britney Spears’, Olly Alexander is commended by NME who title him “one of the most vital pop stars of his generation”.
Rejjie Snow also makes the list with his February 2018 album ‘Dear Annie’, praised for its production which creates a “buoyant, ever-changing and fun world to immerse yourself in”. Rejjie Snow also featured in The Evening Standard as one of the best albums of the year, sitting alongside Cardi B and Christine and the Queens.
