Rejjie Snow Releases Video For Virgo

Rejjie Snow today debuts his latest track Virgo, featuring New Orleans rapper Pell, and its accompanying video. Premiered by DJ Target on MistaJam’s Radio 1Xtra show last night, the song is the latest to be taken from the Dublin-born artist’s eagerly awaited debut album Dear Annie . Produced by Rahki, who also executive produced Dear Annie , Virgo is available to stream and download now.

“Virgo is a track I wrote about feeling the pressures of trying to be a star,” says Rejjie. “But knowing that you put those pressures mostly on yourself, because someone will have your back no matter what”.

Directed by Julien Soulier from Partizan, the video for the track follows Rejjie through the streets of his hometown Dublin and depicts summertime in a concrete playground. Filmed on O-Devaney Estate, one of the last standing estates in Dublin with only five families left living there, Rejjie says of the video: “It’s the world we live in. Colourful and magical in it’s own way. Almost like a music video even though most days be darker than bright”.

Steve Wood says: “The estate of O’Daveney Gardens in central Dublin is about to be demolished and the remaining families moved. This place holds a lot of memories. Despite a reputation for crime and violence, we felt none of that and were welcomed by the locals who were happy for us to feature their home and families in Rejjie’s video. The whole neighborhood took part, which is the real life back drop of the video”.
