Friendly Fires return with new single ‘Love Like Waves’ as Annie Mac Hottest Record.
Friendly Fires made a triumphant return for their extended hiatus with their brand new single ‘Love Like Waves’ premiering on Thursday 5th April as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on her BBC Radio 1 flagship alternative music show. Produced and mixed by Machine Management’s Mark Ralph, ‘Love Like Waves’ marks a stunning return for the UK trio of Ed Macfarlane, Edd Gibson and Jack Savidge. Both a timely reminder of Friendly Fires’ undeniable past successes and a tantalising taste of an even brighter future, it’s set to herald a fresh new era for the band, who have so far released two full length LPs – their eponymous, Mercury Prize-nominated 2008 debut and its 2012 follow up Pala – to widespread acclaim.
To coincide with the single release, Friendly Fires will play a headline show at London’s legendary O2 Academy Brixton on tonight. Selling out in a matter of days, the show will be Friendly Fires’ first UK live appearance since 2012 and is set to be another euphoric, celebratory night from one of the UK’s most exciting and critically feted live acts.
